Šuker: "Our youngsters show that they know, can, and want to"

While Croatia U-17 (players born in 1998) has reached the FIFA World Cup second round in Chile, the "new" Croatia U-17 has secured Elite Round berth in its qualifying campaign for the European Championships 2016 with two wins in two matches.

Positive results of Croatia youth selections bring special joy to HNS president Davor Šuker:

"This month we have celebrated the ninth major tournament for our senior national team, and the success of our youth teams show that Croatia will stay strong in the future. I congratulate the Croatia U-17 head coach Petar Krpan, his staff and all the players for a confident performance in Liechtenstein to reach the Elite Round and I wish them good luck in the final match against Czech Republic, and then in the Elite Round as well".

Ahead of the Croatia U-17 World Cup Round of 16 encounter with Germany, president Šuker has stated his pride of the performances in Chile:

"I congratulate the boys and the head coach Dario Bašić for joining the 16 best teams in the world. They have shown that they know, they can, and they want to. We have seen their talents, as well as their personality in difficult situations. I wish them a lot of success against Germany. I expect a great, tough match between two teams that are among the best in Europe. Regardless of the outcome, we can be proud of what we have seen in Chile".
