Šime Vrsaljko signs for Atletico Madrid

24-year-old Šime Vrsaljko moves to Primera, to Champions League finalists and recent Spanish champions, Atletico Madrid, agreeing a five-year contract.

"Playing for Atletico is a big challenge for me, I’m very happy", said the Croatian international upon signing.

Atletico Madrid bosses expressed their satisfaction with securing the services of such a versatile player, with experience from Italian Serie A sides Genoa and Sassuolo. In Croatia, before embarking for Italy, Vrsaljko player for Lokomotiva and Dinamo Zagreb.

Vrsaljko made his debut in Croatia jersey in September 2011, and was capped 21 times, including the appearance at UEFA EURO 2016 in France.
