Croatian strikers Duje Čop and Ivica Olić signed new club contracts for the upcoming season.
Duje Čop, who has five caps for Croatia including the appearance in the victory over Spain at the UEFA EURO 2016 in France, remains in Spanish top flight after moving from Malaga to Sporting Gijon.
Čop, a Cagliari player, agreed to another one-year loan deal at Primera, while Sporting Gijon is obligated to purchase the player if relegation is avoided.
Ivica Olić, former Croatia striker who ended his international career following the successful UEFA EURO 2016 qualifying campaign, left HSV and signed a one-year contract with German second tier team of 1860 München. Olić, a 36-year-old, already played in Germany for Hertha, HSV, Bayern, and Wolfsburg. From 2001 to 2003, current Croatian Football Federation president Davor Šuker also wore the 1860 München jersey.
