Croatia international Matej Mitrović has signed with Turkish champions Besiktas in the winter transfer window.
HNK Rijeka defender and Croatia international defender Matej Mitrović agreed to a three-and-a-half year contract with Besiktas.
Mitrović has moved to Rijeka in 2013, coming from Cibalia Vinkovci, and helped the team to win Croatian Cup, alongside Europa League appearances. Besiktas is currently second-placed team in the Turkish Super Lig, trailing only a point to leaders Basaksehir.
His first international appearance came in Argentina friendly in 2014, while Mitrović played in 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Kosovo and Finland this autumn, as well as Northern Ireland friendly in Belfast. At Kosovo, Mitrović scored his first international goal.
