Subašić and Mandžukić among the top ten
Modrić shortlisted for top UEFA Champions League midfielder

Croatia captain Luka Modrić has been nominated for the best Champions League midfielder in 2016/2017.
Through the panel of 32 Champions League coaches and 55 media representatives from all member countries, UEFA is selecting the best goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, and forward in 2016/2017 Champions League season.
Among the top three midfielders nominated for the award is the Croatia captain Luka Modrić of Real Madrid, who has retained the prestigious title with his club. His club teammates Toni Kroos and Casemiro are also nominated.
Buffon (Juventus), Neuer (Bayern), and Oblak (Atletico Madrid) compete for the best goalkeeper award. Bonucci (Juventus/Milan), Marcelo (Real Madrid), and Ramos (Real Madrid) are shortlisted in the best defender category, while Dybala (Juventus), Messi (Barcelona), and Ronaldo (Real Madrid) compete for the best forward award.
Croatia goalkeeper Danijel Subašić of Monaco was ranked seventh in the voting process, and Croatia forward Mario Mandžukić of Juventus was tenth in his category.
The awards will be presented on 24 August.
