Croatia head coach Ante Čačić received injury updates on two more Croatia internationals.
Croatia national team closes the Group I campaign on 6 October at home against Finland and on 9 October away at Ukraine, but Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovačić is to miss out on these two important challenges.
Kovačić was injured in Champions League opener as Real Madrid defeated APOEL 3:0. He sustained a partial adductor rupture and is expected to recover in six to eight weeks.
Furthermore, Croatia goalkeeper Danijel Subašić of French champions Monaco, will be sidelined during the following two or three weeks due to ankle ligament injury. Therefore it is possible that he will not be available for the Finland and Ukraine qualifiers.
