On Wednesday, UEFA has confirmed the starting positions in the newly formed Nations League.
The first edition of Nations League will be played from September to November 2018, following the World Cup in Russia. Croatia will compete in the top tier, League A, courtesy of UEFA coefficient upon the completion of European Qualifiers group stage.
Alongside Croatia, the League A consists of 11 remaining best European national teams: Germany, Portugal, Belgium, Spain, France, England, Switzerland, Italy, Poland, Iceland and Netherlands. These teams will be drawn in four groups, on 24 January 2018.
The group winners reach the Final Four tournament, to be played in June 2019 and to determine the first Nations League champion, while the four third-placed teams will be relegated to League B.
