Lovre Kalinić receives important goalkeeping award

Upon the completion of the last round of league matches in Belgium, Gent goalkeeper Lovre Kalinić received the award as the goalkeeper who kept the most clean sheets - 14, overcoming Antwerp's Sinan Bolat due to number of minutes played.

"This is the best award a goalkeeper can get, and it gives me confidence. The credit goes to the entire team, and I cannot compare this award with the last year's Player of the Year award. To received that fans' award was also exceptional", said Kalinić, who was capped 10 times by Croatia.

Kalinić's Gent secured Europa League berth.

 

It is nice to finish the season with a great win against Brugge and to win the trophy for the most clean sheets during the season 17/18. Without my teammates I would never have won that special trophy.
