Croatia captain Luka Modrić claimed the title of UEFA Men's Player of the Year at the UEFA Champions League draw in Monaco.
After winning a historic silver medal and the Golden Ball Award at the FIFA World Cup, Croatian midfielder Luka Modrić has added another achievement to his list by claiming the title of UEFA Men's Player of the Year. Among the other finalists for the award were fellow Real Madrid player Cristiano Ronaldo and Egyptian star Mo Salah.
Modrić led Croatia as team captain in their historic success in Russia mere weeks after winning the UEFA Champions League for a third consecutive time with Real Madrid. In addition to being pronounced UEFA Men's Player of the Yea, Modrić was also named 2017/18 Champions League Midfielder of the Year for a second consecutive time, and he could soon add another recognition to his name, as he has been shortlisted for the FIFA The Best Award.
With his stunning performances on the pitch and his strong leadership in the locker room, Croatia's captain is more than deserving of the accolades.
