Croatia match-worn shirts available for charity auction

On Sunday, November 14th, the group stage of the European section of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification will come to an end, and Croatia will face Russia to determine Group H’s winner, who will directly qualify for the tournament finals.

Ahead of this decisive encounter, perhaps this year’s biggest game for Croatia, the team has decided to once again unite behind the noble cause of Vatreno Srce, the charitable organization founded and run by the coach and players to raise money for the education and treatment of less fortunate children across their nation. Croatia has already became the first national team to raise funds through charity auction of competitive match-worn shirts, as well the first to do so at a major competition (EURO 2020). Over EUR 150,000 has already been raised. 

To raise funds, the same shirts worn by Modrić and teammates against Russia will be signed and put up for auction on MatchWornShirt, where, starting from kick-off, collectors and supporters around the world will have one week to place their bids and bring one home.

Each shirt is a unique piece of memorabilia that will carry both the players’ signatures and the marks left by their actions on the field. Nevertheless, MatchWornShirt will eliminate all viruses and bacteria possibly remaining on the shirts by exposing them under UV-C lights before shipment.
