Croatia’s U-21 national team recorded a draw in their opening match of the European Championship qualifiers, playing 1–1 against Turkey in Trabzon.

Croatia’s U-21 side came away with a point after a hard-fought 1–1 draw. The hosts took the lead in the 62nd minute through Güreler after Jagušić headed a cross back toward Pavlešić. However, Croatia responded quickly — Marin Šotiček equalized just three minutes later, finishing after a well-taken corner.
Croatia’s next qualifier is scheduled for 14 October, when they will host Ukraine in Velika Gorica.
