Croatian deaf futsal national team wins historic bronze medal at the European Championship

The Croatian deaf futsal national team won a historic bronze medal at the European Championship. The Croatian deaf futsal team secured third place at the seventh European Championship in Poreč, achieving a milestone success—the first medal for Croatia in deaf futsal.

In the match for third place, Croatia convincingly defeated Turkey 6–2, confirming their quality and dominance throughout the game.

From the very beginning, Croatia controlled the match, playing confidently and in an organized manner, and concluded the tournament with a victory and a place on the podium. Early in the game, they imposed their rhythm, applied pressure, and searched for a goal, which came in the 9th minute when Anton Lalić scored for 1–0.

Turkey managed to equalize in the 16th minute through Serif Memet, but Croatia responded quickly. In the 19th minute, Anton Lalić scored again to restore Croatia’s lead, making it 2–1 at halftime.

In the second half, Croatia raised their level of play even further and turned the match firmly in their favor. Mirko Vukić increased the lead to 3–1, and Mario Jakovljević soon made it 4–1. The dominance continued as Mirko Vukić scored his second goal for 5–1.

Turkey managed to reduce the score to 5–2 near the end through Fatih Kaya, but Croatia had the final word. Josip Jakovljević set the final score at 6–2, sealing a major celebration for the Croatian team.

This bronze medal represents a significant step forward and a major boost for the further development of deaf futsal in Croatia.
