Vušković: “England is the biggest match of my career”

Despite the opening defeat of the tournament, Vušković points out the positive aspects of the team’s performance.

“Yes, the match against England is the biggest of my career. I’m sorry it ended that way, but there were good things—we will learn from the bad ones. We played against an excellent opponent, and we need to focus on the next challenges and prepare well.”

On his experience playing in four different leagues compared to the World Cup…

“Every mistake is punished, and that’s the biggest difference. That could be seen in the match against England.”

On England’s corner kicks…

“They have a good set-piece taker and strong aerial players, and we weren’t at our best level. We will prepare so we don’t concede goals like that anymore.”

On senior players in the “Fiery Ones”…

“We are proud to play with players like Kramarić, Luka, and Perišić. It’s a pleasure to watch them play, and we can only learn from them, both on and off the pitch, in every detail.”

On Panama…

“They deserve to be here. Everything is on us—we have to go in 100% with high focus.”
