Nikola Moro joined Joško Gvardiol at the press conference on the eve of Croatia's departure for Philadelphia, where the Vatreni will face Ghana in their final group-stage match.

Moro spoke about the atmosphere in the dressing room ahead of the decisive game for a place in the knockout stage.

“We got a real boost from the victory against Panama. Ghana are also a strong team, and we have to prepare well and perform at our highest level against them. They have shown their quality as well. The team spirit is excellent, we still have two training sessions ahead of us, and I believe we'll prepare properly. Every match requires its own specific preparation. We have a solid foundation that we keep building on and improving every day, and we'll continue working on that over the next two days. I won't reveal any more than that, but we'll train as well as possible and deliver what we need to on the pitch.”

On Ghana...

“They scored against Panama in the final minute, and against England they defended successfully for the full 90 minutes and achieved their objective. We'll need to be patient.”

On his experience playing in Russia...

“When I moved there, the Russian league was considered one of the top five or six leagues in Europe, with four or five excellent clubs regularly competing in the group stages of European competitions. The standard of football was very high, with players arriving from across Europe, South America, and Africa. It was a very competitive and attractive league.”

On playing for Dinamo...

“I also spent an important part of my career in Zagreb, at Dinamo. That's where I learned the most, both in terms of football and life experience. Making the step into professional football, progressing through the youth academy, playing for the senior team, and competing in the Champions League—most of what I am today as a player was shaped there.”

On how much Luka Modrić has instilled the national team culture in the younger players...

“He certainly has. Regardless of the fact that he's a great player and our captain, through his example and his attitude toward the national team, every training session, and every match, he has left us with a sense of responsibility to carry that tradition forward. He has shown us that representing Croatia is something greater than what we do on a daily basis at club level. His role has been a major contribution to every success this national team has achieved.”
