Following the letter of intent sent to UEFA in April, Croatian Football Federation will officially apply for hosting the European U-19 Championships in 2018.
As announced by the Croatian Football Federation president Davor Šuker, Croatia will nominate Istra and Kvarner region to host the European Championships, including the Rijeka, Istra 1961, Uljanik and Kostrena stadiums.
"We have to let youngsters play. I hope we can win this bidding race and then host the tournament in a beautiful atmosphere, cheering Croatia on", said Šuker.
UEFA will consider all the bids and announce the winning one in January 2015.
"It would be of great significance for Croatian football to host this tournament. We have done our best and we believe that we fulfill all the requirement, being aware of the tough competition at the same time", said Croatian Football Federation technical director, Romeo Jozak.
