Croatia's U-19 national team drew 0-0 with Italy in their second match at the UEFA European Under-19 Championship in Wales.

After opening the tournament with a 3-1 defeat to Ukraine, Siniša Oreščanin's side produced a solid performance to earn a goalless draw against the Italians.

“The result is quite good. We didn't create many chances, but I am very pleased with the reaction of my team after the first match. Following that game, there were certain things we needed to address, and today we showed how we want to play against a very high-quality Italian side. Italy threatened us mainly through crosses into the penalty area, while they did not create many clear opportunities from other situations. On the other hand, in the second half we had two or three very dangerous transitions, but we lacked the final pass,” said Siniša Oreščanin after the match.

Croatia will face Serbia on 5 July in the decisive final group-stage match.

“At this tournament, the objective is always the same – to win. We will now give the players time to recover, a bit of peace and quiet, and the opportunity to enjoy this moment. For me, this was a very positive reaction from the team. We will prepare thoroughly for the final group match. I hope it will only be our final group match and not our final match of the tournament.”
